VIRBOX: ROOM AIR FILTER REDUCES VIRAL LOAD IN TIMES OF COVID-19

As a manufacturer of filter and extraction systems, protection against the spread of the corona virus has also been incorporated into ESTA’s product development. ESTA’s Managing Director Philipp Raunitschke explains: "In times of COVID-19, room air filter devices such as our VirBox are a suitable way of effectively expanding existing protective measures, such as wearing masks or complying with distance rules and regular ventilation. Especially in enclosed or poorly ventilated rooms, it is important to reduce the dangers posed by viruses as much as possible.” With the VirBox, the family-owned company is introducing a new mobile filter device that filters viruses and bacteria bound in aerosols and ensures constant air movement in workspaces. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), prolonged periods spent in small, poorly ventilated or unventilated rooms can increase the likelihood of transmission through aerosols - according to one study, virus-laden aerosols can be detected in the air for several hours. The RKI therefore recommends effective air exchange to reduce the aerosol concentrations in rooms.
 

NEARLY 100 % SEPARATION EFFICIENCY

The VirBox effectively captures both particle-laden air and aerosols containing viruses, as well as pollen, dust, germs and bacteria from room air. The integrated HEPA 14 filter filters 99.995 percent of the viruses bound in aerosols out of the air, which can significantly reduce the viral load in workspaces.
