BHS-Sonthofen & ESTA
FLEXIBLE EXTRACTION SYSTEM FOR DUST-FREE AIR IN PROCESS TECHNOLOGY
In the test center for process technology of the South German machine and plant manufacturer BHS-Sonthofen, innovative process engineering solutions are developed for various industries. The focus is on process steps such as solid-liquid separation, drying, mixing, and reacting. During setup work for the test series, various types of dust are generated, which settle on machines and the hall floor as well as pollute the breathing air.
In order to carry out the tests under optimal conditions, a clean working environment, pure air, and compliance with ATEX guidelines are essential. A new extraction system from ESTA provides relief.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When combustible dusts and thus a potentially explosive atmosphere cannot be ruled out, companies are required to take appropriate safety measures. This also includes the ATEX-compliant design of extraction systems to reduce the risk of explosion to a minimum. Preparing a risk assessment and an explosion protection document is mandatory.
The maintenance intervals depend on the respective extraction system and whether it is used in shift or continuous operation. In general, ESTA extraction systems require little maintenance because they are characterized by high build quality and are equipped with cleanable and regenerable filters.
The modular design allows for precise configuration of the extraction system in terms of performance, filter package, and setup. It can be used both as a single-station and a multi-station extraction system in the medium performance range with air volume flows from 2,000 to 6,000 cubic meters per hour. Depending on the application, the filter package can be equipped with separation efficiencies of up to 99.995%. Additionally, optional pre-separation systems as well as post-filter units, for example with activated carbon filters, are available. The setup of the system, including the position of the intake nozzle, control cabinet, and touch display, can be flexibly adapted to the spatial conditions. The DUSTOMAT DRY units are available in ATEX-compliant versions and will soon also be offered with H or H3 certification marks.
Depending on the application, extraction arms, hoods, tables and cabins can be connected via the piping system. The DUSTOMAT DRY dust extractor can also be connected directly to processing machines.
