ESTA develops extraction solutions that capture pollutants directly at the source. Whether permanently installed or as a mobile extraction unit for medical applications – all extraction systems operate efficiently, safely and reliably. With a separation efficiency of up to 99.995 percent, the systems remove even the finest particles from the air. They also provide reliable protection in potentially explosive zones.

Our extraction systems can be operated as stationary or mobile units and are suitable for integration into existing processes. They are designed for use on machines as well as in entire production areas. The extraction systems reliably support users in complying with legal requirements in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13485. In this way, they not only contribute to air quality but also to the precise and safe production of medical components in compliance with the relevant standards.

AREAS OF APPLICATION FOR OUR EXTRACTION SYSTEMS IN MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY

Many processing stages in medical technology generate emissions that are hazardous to health. These have a negative effect on air quality, safety and process stability. ESTA offers both stationary extraction systems and mobile extraction systems for use in changing work environments.

Our systems are used in the following processes, among others:

Fine dusts and sparks are often generated when processing stainless steel medical instruments. This combination can easily lead to dangerous situations. The wet separation process is the ideal solution here, as it binds the sparks directly in the water, thus significantly reducing the risk of fire.
 

The wet separators of the DUSTOMAT HYDRO-series series are ideally suited for this application. The systems reliably capture emissions and ensure clean air in the workplace. A downstream, configurable dry filter system removes up to 99,995 % of fine dusts from the air.
 

For maximum safety, the devices are also available in ATEX-compliant versions.

WHICH SUBSTANCES ARE EXTRACTED IN MEDICAL MANUFACTURING?

Process-related dusts, chips, fumes or vapours can significantly impair occupational safety. Typical emissions in medical technology include:

  • Metal dusts generated during surface processing, e. g. surgical steel, stainless steel, titanium or aluminium
  • Oil mist and aerosols when using cooling lubricants
  • Plastic dusts generated during the manufacture of prostheses, including those made of PEEK, polypropylene, polycarbonate, ABS, nylon or silicone
  • Ceramic dusts, e. g. zirconium oxide and aluminium oxide generated during the manufacture of instrument parts
  • Carbon fibres during the production of implants
  • Fumes such as welding fumes, soldering fumes or laser fumes generated during thermal processing
